THATCH is a slow-crafted studio based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Sustainability, re-creation and reservation are at the core of my practice. I embrace working with overlooked, discarded or forgotten materials in an imaginative and conscious artful way. The constraint of working from this ethos allows me to give a second life to imperfect objects and materials, imbuing them with a new useful timelessness.

Every piece, whether a bag, brooch, textile artwork, weaving or homeware is lovingly handmade with intention and care. THATCH is slow fashion and slow living, each piece is one of a kind and bestows its own story and character.

Poetry and drawing are an important part of my artistic practice. I am inspired by nature, memories and feelings. I have synaesthesia, which has become an emotive and captivating tool that helps me describe and interpret the world I see and feel.

Alongside my creative practice, inspired by my experience with synaesthesia is the It's Mist  body spray collection. Each spray is designed to evoke a sense of nostalgia, calm and grounding. These sprays are inspired by my perception of how smell, sight, taste and sound cross over.
